Perkins works with Give Kids the World, a nonprofit organization that helps children with life-threatening illnesses experience a resort vacation in Florida. The organization has helped feed over 148,000 Wish families since 1989.
When it first opened in 1958, Perkins was called Perkins Pancake House. It then merged with another chain called Smitty’s and became Perkins “Cake & Steak.” In 1987 the chain officially became Perkins Family Restaurants.
